page 58 to 60 of the manual explains how internet-calls work (includes sending video)

also, on page 81 you can see "audio recording" in video-mode. so you can record without sound.

Similarly to what happened to Maemo5, Meego probably is not going to be on par with Maemo 5 feature wise until next year so I wouldn't kill Maemo 5 so early.

I posted about this in another forum and here's the summary of currently noticed changes from the manual in this thread.

- It will support internet video calls. Straight from contacts.
- Night Photo and Night Video modes.
- Video recording resolution support.
- Mail widget
- Official support of portrait mode in web browser.
- Native Geolocations support for web browser.
- Volume button can be set to either volume or zoom for browser.
- Themes for Smileys and Conversations.
- MfE support enhancements. (Can accept/decline meeting requests)
- SMS option only shows for mobile phone numbers. (not for landlines)
- File Manager allows sharing of any files. (no more need for Petrovich)
- Clear device data and restore settings option. (possibly full factory default)
- Group chat possible in Instant Messaging
- Search by typing for applications in App Launcher.
- Sticky tags for videos and photos.
- Away status for status of Contacts (page 52)
- Can disable Show Captured Video after finishing recording. (page 82)
- Media player now supports MAFW Plug-ins. (page 91)

A Nokia employee did mention at the Ovi maps blog that they were working on it. But it could well be they are holding it back to give Sygic a chance to sell some of their software, after the Ovi store problem. Pure speculation, but if I were Sygic I would insist on that, and if I were Nokia (and the Ovi Store deal with Sygic was indeed the reason for the delay) I would give it to them.

Well, let's hope that the UK release is just a prelude of PR1.2

Althought I belive that it will hit market just in late April

N900 is said to be released in early April in Australia.
It's already appearing in major retailer's websites.
My speculation is that PR1.2 is already finalized / ready.
And new release batches will be on PR1.2 out of the box.
If so, PR1.2 should be available by end of the month.

no, seems like there are other things to be done that are considered more important
