Nokia's projection for the next quarter or two is down, they're not out of the picture, they have new and exciting products in the pipe... thank you very much.

Check out this post of Andrew Wafaa's. Wafaa becomes convinced that MeeGo, at least for netbooks, is dead before the Nokia announcement.

I was just thinking that if Nokia isn't doing work on it anymore, Intel probably isn't going to be maintaining it for the ARM architecture. If Smeegol doesn't exist anymore, no one's going to be making MeeGo available to non-Intel x86 CPUs (Intel made Moblin require a certain instruction set not found in AMD of VIA CPUs). There's going to be a very big need for independent people to contribute to the project to keep it alive. Making MeeGo on top of openSUSE was a great idea for x86. Maybe the way forward is to do something similar with a Linux version with an ARM version. openSUSE has a lot of what it would take to make an ARM version in place with their build service, but they haven't chosen to do so yet.

Yeah. I missed the SuperBowl prediction and I missed this one like no other.

No doubt, I was 100% wrong.
