use xmaeme as the frontend.
until i can do some work on xgngeo.
its compile, but needs hildonizing.
which i pretty much suck at.
if anyone wants to help me, more than welcome to offer help.

btw, xgngeo is written in python.

yes, what's most important is the ability to remap the keys (for n810 users that is). fighters require being able to quickly tap buttons. but you are unable to do that on an n8x0 touchscreen.

ok..so got commandline working...BUT if i want the option to use XMaeme as the frontend, then I just need to create an Xmame folder inside my roms folder, and then put the ROM.zip and BIOS folder inside of that?

Edit the p1key keycodes at the bottom of /home/user/.gngeo/gngeorc

I'm sure there's a list somewhere as to what key sends what code, otherwise you could use a program like "xev" where you press a key, and note the code it sends.

I dont think xmame actualy works.. for neogeo roms. which is why we're running gngeo from the commandline

"/home/user/.gngeo/gngeorc" doesnt exist for some reason.... infact there is no .gngeo directory in /home/user... iwish this wasnt so seemingly complicated..

i run gngeo from xmaeme frontend,
I think you are confusing xmame and xmaeme
when you install the latest xmaeme and gngeo.
now when you run xmaeme you should see a NeoGeo tab.
xmame is what you use to run xmame roms.
xmaeme is the frontend for xmame, gngeo, fceu, and GBA.

the video i have on youtube shows me running gngeo from the frontend.

Follow this post

Then install xmaeme.
then run xmaeme.
hit the neogeo tab.
choose the rom
choose bios location,
which should be /media/mmc1/roms/neogeo/bios/
then click on execute.

gngeo should install via application manager if you create the folder
/media/roms/neogeo/
