mClock won't load on my N800. (os 2008)

Looking forward to using this useful application. Unfortunately when I press the mclock icon in Extras it tries to load and nothing happens. There is no message in the application manager log. I've tried installing versions 0.5.0, 0.4.0 and 0.2.0. Also I've tried installing from file.

Has any one had this problem?

Sorted - just needed to install more python bits

The one feature request I have is-
I'd like this clock to act as a 'screensaver' i.e. If my tablet is inactive for a few minutes I'd like the clock to load automatically, then I'd like it to close automatically upon user input.

I think the easiest way to do this would likely be to add a desktop mclock applet. (which could replace the built in clock applet on os2008. Then the applet could control mclock...

cheers,

I second, third & fourth this request . This is a great app and adding this would make it just AWESOME!

first try after installing python 2.5 runtime:

/media/mmc1 # dpkg -i mClock-0.5.0.all.deb
Selecting previously deselected package mclock.
(Reading database ... 16797 files and directories currently installed.)
Unpacking mclock (from mClock-0.5.0.all.deb) ...
touch: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnome/__init__.py: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing mClock-0.5.0.all.deb (--install):
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were encountered while processing:
mClock-0.5.0.all.deb
after 'mkdir /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnome' and completing the install I ran 'mClock' in shell:

/media/mmc1 # mClock
/usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py:4: RuntimeWarning: import cdrom: No module named cdrom
import pygame
/usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py:4: RuntimeWarning: import joystick: No module named joystick
import pygame
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/mClock/mClock.py", line 28, in <module>
from gnome import gconf
ImportError: cannot import name gconf
Using N810 with 4.2008.30-2.

UPDATE: happens with mClock 0.5.6-2 too.

UPDATE nr.2: python2.5-runtime from extras-devel is missing gconf.so in/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnome, it has been relocated to /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gnome/. So make sure you are using the python2.5-runtime from extras, not extras-devel.

in other words, this worked for me:
cp /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gtk-2.0/gnome/gconf.so /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/gnome/.

and everything works fine
