Sound is supposed to work including mp3/ogg/flac versions of audio. It works for me on my N900.
Which games? What type of sound (speech, midi music, ...)?
random ideas:
- check if sound works in other applications, check audio volume settings both in system and in ScummVM (Options->Volume)
-reboot phone
- try to start scummvm from terminal (type '/usr/games/scummvm') and check for error messages related to sound

Take all the junk inside the other folders from your CD and pile all of those files into just one folder.
