I said 'anti-clockwise' which is the english oposite of clockwise!
Never got on with the american version
I was not quoting you, I was quoting the original news article.

I only speak english, and I have NEVER heard of "anti-clockwise"

While I am American, I didn't realize "counter-clockwise" was an American term?

I did a search for anticlockwise in google, got 589K, I did a seach for counterclockwise, and I got back 2680K.

I still think anit-clockwise sounds stupid

Isn't something thats not moving, "anticlockwise"

I think brits and aussies both, use anti-clockwise. It's cause their heads are screwed on backwards, I think. No, wait, the other way round.

It was an Australian article, so anti-clockwise is what they'd naturally use. Maybe in their case, it's because they're in the southern hemisphere.

/me grins, knowing that the people who want to lynch him right now are at least an ocean away.

Not necessarily.

If some guys with ropes and scalpels knock on your door, they're cool. Let them in. Thanks.

Google centre vs center; it's just an American Web. As we Canadians know all too well.

Well, I found the keys. OK, I didn't really, I asked my wife and she looked at me with that sad/disappointed look they do and pointed at them.

Other than that, not much changed!

I would have expected higher, as your population is 5 times higher than ours.

Australians certainly would. But doesn't their water go anti-clockwise anyway?

They would never find me. They wouldn't understand when someone asked for directions from the airport, or crash when someone told them which way to go round the roundabouts!
