I believe I added all the questions, and any answers I saw. Forgive me if I missed one, I can understand why Tim wanted a Page. Lot of fluff in the thread to go through just to pull out the questions. ;-)

My main question (but maybe Qole already has elements to answer) is: are we going to be able to run a chroot environment, possibly in a separate display like in Xephyr, to enable easy debian or easy ubuntu or easy mer or whatever?
If I have that I have all I need

I think, N900 HAS a backlit keyboard. I remember seeing them in the videos.

It definitely has a backlit keyboard (I saw a photo of it on flickr which seems to have gone), and the tv-out will only support composite given the type of cable it uses. You can't do vga over one wire. (It uses a 3.5mm jack with 4 rings instead of the usual 3. These are ground, audio left and right, as on a normal 3.5mm jack + one for composite video. A proper VGA connection would need separate RGB signals among other things)

Thanks pastew. How do you know how many rings the jack has? Have you seen the device?

Well, it has to be compatible with normal 3.5mm headphones and it's a fairly standard connector (already available on several Nokia phones AIUI)

Shouldn't one of the rings be for the microphone?

added questions about support for dynamic wep 802.1x wifi. My place of work supports EAP-TLS and EAP-LEAP.
I'm pretty sure that LEAP is not going to be supported as it's widely regarded as insecure.
I'm really hoping I'll be able to get my n900 on the work wifi. Unlike my 810

Check out Witter, a twitter client for N900
http://danielwould.wordpress.com/witter

If Witter isn't working for you, eg crashes/doesn't start, gives errors etc etc. Please run it from x-term using:
run-standalone.sh python2.5 /opt/witter/witter.py

This will generate diagnostic output. Without this I cannot help you.

What is your most favorite improvement? What is the biggest change from previous tablets? How has holding and playing with the N900 changed or re-enforced your previously held thoughts on it?

According to the specifications for the N900 listed on maemo.nokia.com, the device comes with a Nokia CA-75U video out cable. From there, Google is your friend:
