TVcatchup iphone is a very nice website, if only we could have access for the n900

yes, still works if you start in the lower resolution stream and once playback commences you then select the "pop-out" icon to launch it in a separate window. once that starts, put it in full screen - it will stutter for a few seconds but then plays fine.

iPlayer Beta is now available at http://beta.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/?beta=true. It does not have the pop-out button and therefore does not work on my N900. (The current version one does flawlessly.) I hope this does not mean they will get rid of the pop-out.

The live TV streams on iPlayer (such as http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlive/bbc_one_london/) do not work well on my N900, even in a pop-out window. These lower quality streams do not seem to work any more either.

im the uk, i've even paid my tv licence!
That's exactly what happened with me too. Iplayer worked great, even over 3g was good, but wifi was near perfect. Then last week it just stopped working. Only the sound plays and the video either goes black from the start or displays only the bbc ident image(eg a big 2 when a bbc2 program).

The BBC have done some updating according to their website, saying they are introducing hardware acceleration to all their programs, so it might not just be down to n900.

Strangely though, the watchlive page on the BBC still works, even slightly better since PR1.2.
If you cannot load any iplayer videos give that a try and see if it works for you.... http://www.bbc.co.uk/bbctwo/watchlive/
