Here is another link to the Biblez QT app, would it be that difficult to port this to the n900?

you have a point there but it should not be a problem for nokia to include python officially both on symbian S60 and meego.or as an ovistore extendedlib or something? I see this as important if Nokia want to succes to get more apps in ovistore. Just look in this thread how many QT apps that are written in python already.

I think the 'apps' will only come with other elements that are scorned by this community...

- Hype
- Mainstream users
- Commercial developers
- App Store

Qt on N900 meant it was "technically" possible but did not mean apps will come.

It was put in to make "us" feel like Nokia didn't give up on the N900 when they did.

But makes near no difference to most end users as no major commercial apps will be made for N900 regardless.

So don't expect it. Apps will not come.

If MeeGo takes off and succeeds, then possibly some apps will get compiled for N900+Maemo5. But I highly doubt it.

More like we will get a 'sorta' working MeeGo build on the N900 and need to use that instead.

If not, NITDroid will finally get voice calls, sms and gps to work and many of us will end up using Android on our beloved N900.

But really, many of us will just buy a new phone and put the N900 in a time capsule and hope one day it will be worth something.

Yes. If that is what is required for MORE devs and commercial companies to jump in to the no-future platform called Maemo5.

But we all know that won't happen. So I really appreciate everyone's hard work to keep N900 a useable/useful device beyond what Nokia intended. Thank you.
