Hell no, not that incoming / outgoing COM port thingy again. I fought with that when i had my N73, using Symbian OPM. Will test...
Regarding the root directory: Using Widcomm 6.5 i have the ability to browse for the actual directory where the file(s) to be send should be stored. But folder discovery isn't working too. I've made screenshots a while ago; will attach them when back home.

RFCOMM without L2CAP? Isn't RFCOMm supposed to work ontop of L2CAP?
I could only create an outgoing port (which makes no difference), an incoming can only be created if something "special" runs on the mobile side - i experienced this with my old N73. Symbian OPM's sync agent had to run, then Windows would discover this "service" / "port" and let you create an incoming COM port. Otherwise, you could not choose a device first, which is obligatory.

I did reflash, I have obexd 0.18 and stock kernel, and I can look on the N900 with my laptop. I have installed automatically Bluetooth-services as pictured, not installed is one a service, it may pose a conflict?

Can you please try obexd-0.46 with stock kernel?
It seems to me that the problem is in L2CAP transport. Old obexd doesn't support L2CAP transport (just RFCOMM). And I find some patch related to the L2CAP in kernel-power.
Unfortunately I'm not able to install so old cssu-stable to check it.
