For daily use, yes I recommend Windows 8. For hacking, using Ubuntu's custom edition: Backtrack 5 R3, for developing and white-hat hackers, use: Ubuntu 13.04 
For the record, I also own an Xbox 360 S (Yep am a gamer), and it's awesome but am not a fan of Xbox ONE which is totally an epic fail
