Oh, there is a small bug in the uninstaller, compare install.sh and uninstall.sh and you can adjust or download the new version ;-)

I guess that this line im missing a /:
rm -f "/usr/share/locale$lang/LC_MESSAGES/navit.mo"
Should be:
rm -f "/usr/share/locale/$lang/LC_MESSAGES/navit.mo"

Is this correct?

I installed it from appmanager and followed the description to Schnebeck, downloaded norwegian maps instead.

It works but sometimes it just crash, and some icons is missing.

This application locs promissing

Where can I get the maps?
It opens here...but since there are no maps...it shows a blank screen with the GPS cursor on it.

Ok now got navit from testing to load and display a map, but my screen tooks different from the one posted by schnebeck.

Also crashes trying to input a destination.

The street names on the map are also not easy to read

@rmarcus copy the file to Mydocs and the from a shell do:


echo '<map type="binfile" enabled="yes" data="/home/user/MyDocs/<name of mapfile"/>' > /home/user/.navit/maps.xml

where you replace <name of mapfile> with the filename of the downloaded map

yes it looks correct. You don't need to be root since this homedir for user that is owner. It's actually better to be user so the files get the right owner.
