or sfdisk not installed?
root
apt-get update && apt-get upgrade
apt-get install sfdisk
sfdisk /dev/mmcbl***

# dpkg -S /sbin/sfdisk
busybox: /sbin/sfdisk
(this shows that sfdisk is part of the busybox package which is one of the defaults packages installed.)
