Logged in from Xterm and it counts number of playlist and then gives me
"metadata updated"
for all (10) of them and then stops. It doesn't show any of the playlist names.

All playlists created on spotify desktop - where some tracks have a link next to them but that seems unavoidable on spotify.

Had this problem for weeks - uninstalled and re-installed and I am on the latest version.
Still related to this problem, do you get any playlist loading timeout message at all?

No I don't.

I've removed all the "linked" tracks from my spotify playlists. QSpot logs on, starts to download playlists and then I get the message "can't connect to spotify backend system", I press "Done" and then the login comes up again and it won't log in.

Xterm reads

Num of active configs 1
Set active bearer: "WLAN"
Failed to lookup Spotify service in DNS
Caling getaddrinfo
Failed to lookup addresses for A1.spotify.com:4070
"User mikevenables logged in .."
Session deleted

Seems to be problem with DNS resolution, and also with the alternative host address (in case automatic DNS fails, address A1.spotify.com (port 4070) will be accessed by default). So this has also occured before, or is this now a different problem (anyway from the logs it can be seen that wlan connection is active)?

Different problem from the linked tracks issue I think - but it has shown up once or twice before. Incidentally spotify servers not down because can log on from my PC. And I get the same issue on different WLAN

Does ping of A1.spotify.com work from x-term (as root)?

I.e., what is the output in x-terminal when you enter the following command:

ping a1.spotify.com

That means that resolving of address a1.spotify.com works ok from the device. Does login using QSpot still fail?

Now logs in, seems to be loading playlists but none show up.

X-term gives

set active bearer: "WLAN"
Iniating connect ()
"User mikevenables logged in .."
Got here..
Fetch root playlist container..
Container loaded callback..
Playlist container loaded
Number of playlists: 8
metadata updated .. [this appears 8 times]
