I noticed that omweather applet partially stops working -it displays question marks and no weather data on the main screen but if I click it, it shows correct icons/data in a popup window. I tried to uninstall/install it again , but it did not help. Does it related to New Year event? Does anybody else experience the same issue?

I experienced that issue last night. Maybe it's why I didn't notice when midnight rolled past!

I assumed that it was just a server down somewhere, or some other Internet type problem.

I'm willing to bet both of you are US west coast. I keep about 10 cities around the US/World in mine and only the California ones are fubarred. Bad part is, they are the local ons for me.

Does Nokia manage these systems?

I don't know that the whole problem is related to the new-year-event; I have not been able to get the "current weather" icon to work since OS2008 came out of beta.

Anytime the icons go to ? ? ? I just do a manual "update weather" from the pop-up and all is well. I think it's just a refresh thing, so by "leaving it alone" the next scheduled update will clean it up. Easy enough to manually update it though.

Amazingly, but icons come back after couple of hours "waiting". Manual refresh did not work for me either.

It seemed to be a new-year transition problem. It went away a bit later into the new year, as others too have noticed.
