Hey everyone,

I got my n900, and I've been getting random reboots. I've seen around that other people have had this problem too, and I was wondering if it was a software issue or a hardware issue and I need to send it back.

Thanks

It's not "normal" but there are a lot of people who it's happening to. It should be fixed in the FW update. Have you tried to reflash your device?

I also had reboots, some are strange but mostly when installing new things or something.
I first thought it was a very sloppy after install reboot like with Windows.

If I just use it for the normal things I never encountered this.

Yeah I noticed this as well, would a reflash help stop the random reboots, or at least make my n900 less likely to reboot?

Thanks

Reflashing worked for some people, not all. I haven't done it myself as mine was fine so you're best to ask someone who has actually done it.

If after reflashing and not installing anything you get "random reboots" I'd say get another one.

You might want to read up first:

https://bugs.maemo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=6334

and read post 213, I did, and what is said there helped me out, at least for most of it.
Still rebooting once every two days or so, but much better than it was before.

some more reading from people suffering the same issue:

It seems Nokia have the sollution in the coming firmware update, sometime this month.
