you might want to consider not enabling the GPS all the time...

But i guess that triangulation by 3+ cell towers can be done by the operators nonetheless :-(

I've only skim-read but that article only talks about cell data.

Phones don't transmit anything when using GPS as far as I am aware (they don't need to, they just work out where they are from where they are in relation to whatever the satalite is beaming down at them).
