Heh. I stole that from someone's email a while back. Now that you mention it, it probably was BSD. Makes the quote more "rhyming", doesn't it?

$135 on ebay (plus $14 shipping) was what I paid. I just ordered it 12/12 so I still don't have it yet. I had a plan for getting the n800. I played games on a website and earned points (http://club.live.com) and spent those points in March to get Windows Vista. I was going to sell it on ebay and use the money to get an n800. I even asked someone on this forum to hold the n800 he was selling so I could get the Vista and pay hime then. Over 7 months went by and I didn't get it. I emailed them, they didn't respond. I emailed them again they said they would look into it. Finally in early November I got an email saying it shipped and I got it 2 days later. I put it up for auction and it sold for $115 on 12/5. At that time I found a deal (also run by live.com) that gave you 30% off on ebay and with that I could get an n800 for $105 shipped. Of course by the time I got paid for the Vista that item was sold and the 30% off was over. But oh well, $135 is still a good price. I was planning on getting the internet tablet by summer and now I'll barely get it by Christmas.

@blowfish23: So effectively, Microsoft bought you an N800? That is a pretty great scheme.

Yep. If the cashback deal from live was still available at 35%, it would have gone like this: Sold Vista I got free from Microsoft for $115, Buy n800 for $149, get $52 cashback from Microsoft, and have $18 to spare.

Almost two years ago I bought a used N800 for $175 from a local seller on craigslist. It was only three weeks old with original sales receipt, box and all extras. I've used it everyday since.

Don't remember the exact price, but it was less than $150 at CompUSA's going out of business sale. They had it in with the cellphones at 65% off, and the cell prices weren't inflated first (what were they thinking with the motherboard prices?). I had to travel to a number of stores to find one that was NIB though. Most were demonstrators with dirt and dust all over them.
