Just as a public followup to this message:
I am currently working on eboard for Diablo. The version out there was coded for Chinook and uses the /dev/dsp device for sound. Diablo uses a different sound device, the esd daemon. I am currently working on changing the eboard program for this.

Excellent dude!
I know you already have a great working version of it in Extra Devel (personally tested for several hours) but when you get a stable build with sound you should definitely start a new thread announcing its release.

While probably no one here has this installed, I'm hoping someone could rifle off an idea on what to type in for the device and what type of event to select to play a customed sound file.
Any suggestions are welcomed.
