Hey J4ZZ, I have to tip my hat off to Lee as he went out of his way for this one. Here are the 48x48 icons for the fire icons. He asked me also to post them so here is the link. Thanks again Lee!

This is my default home screen. The other screens are just some panorama pictures that followed the N900.

This is my unlock screen:

im not sure mate, i always thought that the 4 different nokia fonts controlled different parts of the phone, maybe they dont, i aint really tested that out yet, was gonna write a guide showing how to edit fonts, as some have missing symbols, its fixed by copy/pasting each character into the nokia fonts, rather than just copying the whole font, ill look into it today if i get time

cheers, the fonts i use generally have all characters, i make sure when i download them. i wanted to go for an LCD style font for my clock though. do u know if theres a way to change the colours? ive tried editing colors.config in /usr/share/themes/themename but it seems to have no effect at all when i reboot.

think someone figured that out here bro:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php?t=41174

from a google search, that always seems to work better than the search box here
think ill play with the colors too now!

edit:
you can add digital numbers to your font, but they would show everywhere numbers are shown on the phone

Quick and dirty:
-open Xterm
-sudo gainroot
-paste
perl -pi -e "s/Nokia Sans/*Your Font name*/g" /usr/share/themes/*your Theme name*/gtk-2.0/gtkrc /usr/share/themes/*your Theme name*/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.input_method /usr/share/themes/*your Theme name*/matchbo*/theme.xml
alpha is the default theme, beta is the orange Nature one.
My Font is called HandelGotD so I pasted for the Nature Theme:

perl -pi -e "s/Nokia Sans/HandelGotD/g" /usr/share/themes/beta/gtk-2.0/gtkrc /usr/share/themes/beta/gtk-2.0/gtkrc.input_method /usr/share/themes/beta/matchbo*/theme.xml
Edit: Just got told where to set the messaging fonts. So add
/etc/hildon/theme/css/colors.css
in between and you'll have that changed, too!!! Needs to be done only once.

P.S.: I left the original nokia fonts alone and created my own font folder "/home/user/.fonts".
Now I just putted my custom fonts in there and rebooted so my 900 recongnizes them. Works like a charm...

Greetz,
