Hey guys,

I was wondering if you are able to hide the menu bar and status bar in the OS2008?

Also, what about gestures support, is that integrated into the interface at all? Maybe when scrolling Firefox?

Thanks!!

Evan

This touches on a question I've had since the announcement of OS08, which is:

How much flexibility will we have when it comes to customizing the home screen? For example, right now, I don't use the 'contacts' icon and I'd love to replace it with, say, an icon for one of my apps. Plus the ability to customize the icons and other elements (a la ThemeMaker) would be nice.

What say you Texrat? Will this be possible?

It *may* be possible with some under-the-hood command line work, but I don't see gui support for it.

It's worth bearing in mind that the Ubuntu Mobile/Moblin home screen is still the same Hildon desktop we see; just configured to not show the menu bar etc.

It *should* be possible to port that configuration (and, possibly the launcher itself) to Hildon at some point.

@ Greyghost: You should be able to change the contacts icon. See my post about it in this thread.
