I am using the RSS Feed Reader to pull down all my podcasts. If I go to any feed that has mp3s attached, when I click its link it automatically opens media player so it can stream the file. When I do the same with ogg feed it will open up a browser and ask me to download the file. This is what I prefer.

Is there a way that I can set the RSS Reader to stop streaming mp3s and instead ask to download them?

Hold the stylus on the icon in the RSS reader, and the little menu will come up -> click "Open link...".

The browser will open, and a dialog will come up allowing you to save the mp3.
