I don't want buyers remorse!

11" MBAir 4GB, SSD128GB (half for Win7), Apple DVD-drive ... why would I need a Transformer if I'm struggling to find time to tinker with linux these days?

If its a Transformer with slim bezels and 8.9" size
= one-handed portrait use with my XL hands
= my car gps & entertainment
= mobile computer = no need to buy an ultraportable laptop (ie MBA).

Me =/= $$TREE$$
My advice to everyone is save up some money and don't buy anything unless you really want something and if you wait what you wanted might be on the market or the device you previously wanted will b e cheaper. Example the HTC Flyer was originally 900 for the 3g 32gb version but in two months it is 650 US Dollars, The Acer Iconia was 450 originally but now can be had for 300 dollars at certain places and during that period of time the Sony S2 and S1 were shown plus the Lenovo Thinkpad Tablet was shown. Get my point good things come to those who wait.

One big MUTHA F'ING caveat: ONLY back-camera if you're using Android Froyo (2.2). You need at LEAST Gingerbread (2.3) to use a front-camera no matter what device. I have tried it on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 running 2.2 and there's no support for the front camera--but it's reportedly working on 2.3 for the Tab 7.

Well, looks like bad news for me. The Asus Memo might not be coming.

That was the most interesting 7" tablet that I've seen. The HTC Flyer (thanks for the suggestions) is probably next in line, but I think the price is a little high relatively speaking for what you're getting, plus it lacks honeycomb. The pen seems a little gimicky and is quite expensive to replace if lost (so it'd probably not travel much, negating having it).

Looks like the best thing to do is wait a little longer (at least until / through September) and see what shows up.

I haven't kept up with Archos much, but they may have some interesting offerings in September as well.

The 8" tablet could be worthwhile to look at, particularly if the price holds true.

Oddly, I'm very intrigued by the andoid powered alarm clock they have. If priced right, that may be worth picking up. I've already abandoned my traditional alarm clock for my current tablet. It'd have to be pretty cheap, but might have some interesting potential.

How hard would it be to add a screenshot button to the menu that comes up when you hold the power button? I'm using a samsung infuse running infused v1.5.3 if that matters.

Actually the pen isn't that expensive it is a generic piece of hardware and can be found for 30 bucks

Also HTC is releasing a 10 inch flyer which should lower the price on the 7 inch. Also Archos is making a 7 inch tablet and another tablet of a different size

Also Engadget posted a screenshot of what HTC Honeycomb might look like. Lets hope this isn't at&t only. Look pretty slick though.

How are you planning to do that? I suspect you would need to start with CyanogenMod and then edit the source code for the OS. Are you experienced in programming ROMs?

You could remap the buttons. This is one...
