i installed the mircob browser to try it out but decided to stay with opera. so i uninstalled it. this was on the first day i got my N800. Now that i have had it a week i have learned little more about and see that the mircob is still set as my default engine. in trying to switch to opera, nothing happens and it just defaults back to mircob engine. is there a way to fix this, or do i have to reflash the OS.

besides this little problem i love my N800, but i have not installed many apps and hope to dive into that more over the weekend.

thanks in advance,

No need to reflash . microb-broweser has many packages that are not automatically removed. 2 plans:

1. put package manager into 'red pill' mode so you see all packages. they are hidden otherwise

2. start xterm & gain root. The dpkg program is a cli package manager. use it to see all then remove some. this is what i did.

sudo gainroot
Root shell enabled

BusyBox v1.4.1 (2007-03-12 19:00:25 EET) Built-in shell (ash)
Enter 'help' for a list of built-in commands.

# dpkg -l microb*
Desired=Unknown/Install/Remove/Purge/Hold
| Status=Not/Installed/Config-files/Unpacked/Failed-config/Half-installed
|/ Err?=(none)/Hold/Reinst-required/X=both-problems (Status,Err: uppercase=bad)
||/ Name Version Description
+++-==============-==============-============================================
ii microb-browser 0.0.8-3 Meta-package for MicroB Browser aplication
ii microb-eal 0.1.12-1 MicroB Web Engine.
ii microb-engine 1.0.3-13 Package of MicroB libraries based on Mozilla
ii microb-l10n 0.0.4-1 Localization package for microb-engine

I'm not actually removing this now, but the next step is

# dpkg --remove microb-engine
