I'm not sure what the problem is here. You click the little book with the green plus, then point the program to the file. 99% of tablet users seem to manage to get FBReader working just fine, so it sounds like an issue with your understanding of how the program operates. An important note: the external SD card is at /media/mmc1/ on the N800, so you'll have to navigate to that directory to find your books.

[QUOTE=TA-t3;91688]Commenting on a couple of issues mentioned:

    - Large battery drain when listening on the radio.
I assume this is the Internet radio, not the FM radio. Yes, streaming over wi-fi sucks battery, more than surfing or most other activities. And no, it won't help a bit to deep-discharge the battery a couple of times as was suggested, that will simply shorten the capacity and lifetime of the battery even more. The only remedy is to plug in the charger when listening to internet radio for more than an hour or two.

Thanks for this. My issue was basically that I'd set my n800's alarm for morning and then lock screen and keys. Originally, it would wake me w/ no issue, but now it is dead when I wake up (battery that is). I think I may have an application that is working over wifi during the night in some way. I'll have to investigate.

I had read somewhere that leaving gadgets plugged in overnight can shorten battery life as well, so I didn't want to go that route.

Not true. In fact, one of the best ways to prolong the life of lithium-ion or lithium-polymer batteries is to keep them fully charged and not drain them much. Anytime it's available, mine is plugged in and charging, even off of my laptop when I'm at work, and I've seen no ill effects of doing this.

My 2 cents....I'd really wish Nokia would have provided a full PIM suite.
Sorry but GPE sux especially when it comes to sync and or import address books or calendars.
Oh...and video chat HAS to be fixed....

    Other than that...pretty happy

All in all I very much love my n800.
    I do not like
    - the available input methods (hw keyboard is much better)
    - the double key press to wake it up from standby (any LONG key press wouldn't be much better -- simply to slow and I do not like to THINK about this action)
    - the unreadable screen when outside
    - the color (still did not manage to paint my extra faceplate)
    - the waste of space around the screen; a 5" 1024x480 screen would fit if anything else moves elsewhere
    - the webcam (too noisy, not detachable)

N810 solves this and that, but no FM Radio, only 1 (mini!)SD, no better video rate, fixed webcam. I'll wait for step 4.

My only (minor) complain is the lack of a scroll-wheel for browsing. I'm using MicroB.

Misinformation from they days of NiCd and NiMH. I've been leaving my N800 plugged in while I'm at home since January and battery life is nearly as good as it was new.

    Did you read the thread.

Check here to set up soft poweroff with a long-press on the power key. . . .
