Does VLC work with the N800?? Is there something like it?

No, it hasn't been ported.

And there is nothing like VLCplayer.

There was a Zaurus version for a while, a couple years ago. IIRC it wasn't that fast compared to Mplayer on the Zaurus. I would assume that they didn't have the time/interest to do a whole bunch of ARM specific optimizations when MPlayer was already out there. I've even noticed on lower end x86 machines that MPlayer is somewhat less demanding of CPU time while playing the same video as VLC. Out of genuine curiosity, what feature(s) does VLC have that MPlayer and/or the builtin Media Player don't?

VLC has incredibly broad media support. Much better than Mplayer imo. It is also entirely self-contained, with no reliance on external codecs and whatnot. I usually point clients to it if the get some random media file that they can't seem to get to open properly in anything.

I've usually found that to be the other way around, but I think that in reality there are some videos that only one can play and some videos only the other can play. It also depends on not only the platform (win32 vs linux32 vs linux64 vs mac os x), but also that particular build of mplayer or vlc. I know mplayer has *a lot* of options that are compile time choices and get left out for one reason or another in some distributions. I also know that a lot of mplayer's extended codec support can't be included with it in some linux distros because of copyright and patent issues. And to top it off, some codecs (I'm mainly thinking about H.264) are very demanding of the CPU and so even if they were compiled up for the N800/N810 they might not function very well. Though, all of this is kind of a moot point since in most cases videos need to be transcoded for use on the N800 and in that case you can pick whichever codec/resolution works best for whatever player you use.

Yeah even i liked it until i used kmplayer which i think is far better than the vlc player

Sure hope VLC is available some day soon. It would play the Divx movies on the little screen, probably without getting the "video not supported" popup-of-death most Divx movies get, now.

Why can't someone do codecs for this box that ZOOM the videos to fit the screen that are too large?

Having VLC run on the tablets isn't some kind of magic bullet. Getting the GUI and network code to compile and run should be no problem at all. The sticking point is that for it to be useful a whole bunch of ARM specific optimizations need to be done to the video codecs and video rendering code. If you're just looking for the possibility of playing more video formats, MPlayer will play a lot of things that the builtin Media Player can't. You should really give it a try: linkage. Also, when 2008OS comes out it promises support for a lot of new video codecs.
Setting aside the fact that zooming video isn't a function of video codecs...Maybe I'm misunderstanding you, but both the Media Player and MPlayer zoom in on videos that are too small so that they play full screen. If you're talking about playing videos that are too large to fit the screen you have to realize that there are two limiting factors:
1) The CPU on this poor little tablet almost certainly doesn't have enough guts to decode video that's bigger than 800x480 at more than 20fps.
2) On the N800 and N810, the connection between the CPU and LCD controller isn't fast enough to play video over 640x480 at a decent framerate.
