Not sure why, but now I am not able to use maemopad because when trying to browse after files it just close/crash. when in explorer and trying to open the file from explorer then explorer close and maemopad do not start. same when I tried to install and use maemopad+ and when I delete or copy/move files in explorer then explorer close after finishing the task. I had the files on a sd and tried to move the files between both sd without better luck. also tried to have them localy. tried to uninstall some new programs also like kagu and maemopad without luck.

Yikes, I'm not completely positive, but it sounds like you may need to reinstall the firmware. If these issues still persist, you may have a device with bad/corrupt memory... Is it still under warranty?

If this was just an issue with MaemoPad/MaemoPad+, I would have suggested a corrupted application database (as those apps use a DB for file storage, if I'm not mistaken). But, it sounds like your problems are farther reaching.

yeah.. it even does it with the nokia notepad.. I also tried to take out both memorycards and take a reboot.. also uninstalled almost every app. Not sure when it happened. It was not like this when I got it.
It might be one of many apps that I have tried to installed. Guess I have to reflash it to check. It is just 1 1/2 weeks old so warranty is no problem.. the worst thing would be to wait for a new unit since I am already addicted to it

Could I upgrade to the same version of firmware? It came with the new firmware so I have never fladhed it.... alternative is to wait for os08

Reflashing at this point would give you the latest OS2007... You could wait a couple of weeks for OS2008, but if I were you, I'd want to see if I could fix those problems right away!

It worked :-) I reflashed and got the most of my stuff back with the backup. was really
just good to get a clean n800 again. Now even kagu installed right away without
missing library files. look like the firmware that came with the n800 was not 100%
identical even when the update software stated it was. Now I also got the new
browser even and different menu in the browser to set default engine.
