... in your instructions you forgot to tell people about bzip2.
They need to download it from the penguinbait website and run it as follows:
cd /
<path where downlaoded>/bzip2 -dc KDE358.tar.bz2 | tar xf -
Moreover with my freshly flashed n800 with OS2008 I was not able to install e2fsprogs.
Double check it. I had to make the partitions using my Linux box.
Also, after the step to unmount MMC2, whenever I try to partition it (by means of sfdisk), the tablet was always detecting and mounting back the MMC.
I didn't have the trouble you describe with e2fsprogs and have not been able to reproduce it. When I have time I'll start from scratch again and see what happens.
I also had trouble with the new linux partition auto mounting, but only after rebooting. That's why I included the steps to unmount after reboots when necessary. After I added those steps I had no trouble. It's interesting that your partition auto mounted even before you rebooted (if I read your post correctly).
Great work Penguinbate on koffice Nice work with instructions Pronuke. I'm getting my n800 with os2008 ready for Koffice. I need some guidance before I can proceed with installing Koffice.
I just setup USB Host with external drives. Now I'm working on getting os2008 on mmc card. I just successfully used Fanoush's flasher. I got the boot menu prompt asking me to choose boot path. I chose flash, everything loads smoothly. I checked application manager for 'wget and e2fsprogs' and they show as installed. I checked that virtual memory was off. I go into xterm type in commands for unmount and I get message below. Any ideas or workarounds. Two weeks go was the first time I ever touched linux so guide me as a novice if you can. Thanks, Dan

Don't know the terminology.
I'm just following instructions for getting partition setup. I been reading online here and in other forums on the web and can't seem to get past this unmount issue. If you've encountered this hurdle before and know how to get over it I'd appreciate it or if you know where to look for possible solution that would be good to.
Thanks, Dan
