Wizard Mounter allow you to mount remote resources like NFS or SAMBA. It let you manage different bookmarks so you can save different profile for different network.

I was told it does not work in 700. I would love to get that for 770 too

Will this work on OS 2008? Is this basically a gui shell to map network file shares more easily? Does one need to first install any kernel modules and the like, or will this package do it for you?

I can't answer about 2008, but this is a GUI to do what you said. The modules you need are already in the kernel. You can mount things manually if you want/need.

Nope, doesn't work in 2008. Missing nfs-modules.

Which is silly - probably most people don't need or want NFS sharing. That module should be loaded (or its presence tested) whenever it is actually used, and not at startup.

In any case, Wizard Mounter still is far from being finished. It can't:

1. delete Bookmarks with a blank in them (bug)
2. mount shares with a blank in their name (bug)
3. mount CIFS shares from bookmarks at all (bug)
4. edit or review bookmarks (missing feature)
5. make bookmarks accessible anywhere else than in the cryptic edit/delete/execute dialog (design issue)
6. give status information beyond the output of "mount"
7. unmount (missing feature)
8.show all options in a accessible dialog (the type buttons are obscured by the virtual keyboard)

IMHO created bookmarks should show up as icons on a file browser like window, while the current quick mount and bookmarks icons should better be relegated to menu items. Besides, bookmarks must work either way, as mounters as well as unmounters. And it should not make mount generally executable in sudoers - mount/umount restricted to the target directory would do, and is more secure.

I just installed this (after tracking down the dependencies) on OS2007HE. Doesn't seem to want to mount anything, SMB, NFS, or otherwise. Good attempt at a wrapper but as mentioned above, needs more features.

:::

With default OS2008 File manager, I can access the WinXP PW Free Sharing folder & Files.
But Can't access the Folder with the Vista system. Only the Computer Name is
show within the network. How Can I access those Vista No PW Folders?

P.S.: All/Any Computer can read/Write that Vista PW Free Sharing folder with a
real Computer with OS WinXP & Vista.

P.S.: Do we need Wizard Mounter if we only need to access WinXP Sharing Folder?
Since OS2008 is already can access the XP share folder....

Thanks......!
