I'd like to avoid her getting the types of errors that started this thread and then trying to sort through the repositories on www.gronmayer.com.

Basically I think the tablets aren't worth the money if you stick to the pre-installed applications. But the great part is that you can expand their capabilities with 3rd party apps. I just want her to feel like searching for and adding the apps she wants is fun, not work.

Yes, Maemo for Dummies, where is it? One of the bloggers must be working on it secretly...

On the repository issue: there now is a wonderful repository site that makes it very easy to install all all the repositories commonly needed. This was a common bad problem, in my opinion, but now it has been mostly solved.

Buy the N800 or 810 and enjoy us telling you how hard it used to be...
