I still have some trouble trying to connect my N800 (OS2008) to my laptop for internet access.

I installed Maemo-PAN, and edited pan-control according to this post: http://www.gossamer-threads.com/list...hlight=1#35160

When I connect to the Bluetooth-PAN network, it says 'searching for s040344' (my laptop name), and then: 'could not find s040344'.

On the laptop I'm using WindowsXP, I tried with the standard-windows bluetooth drivers, and also with Bleusoleil.

Any clues or help would be greatly appreciated

Edit: I should add, sending and recieving files over bluetooth works as expected

I had a same problem with my bluetooth connection.

In pan-control -file you should use "" instead of a '' when typing the mac-address.

    Sorry for my bad english....

    anybody help!

    after the command

    gconftool-2 -s -t string /system/osso/connectivity/IAP/DUMMY/type DUMMY

I get DUMMY connection but I cannot connect to it
I see DUMMY in the in the list when *editing* connections
but I don't see it when select connection

without this I can only get Ethernet connection to PC (and it works)

but I cannot get IP for tablet and further go to Internet

PLEASE HELP! How can I fix this?

BlueSoleil is very buggy, i wasn't successful with getting PAN to work on it.

Try ifconfig? Supposing you can do static IP on Windows option...
    Code:
    ifconfig ??? up 192.168.69.42
    route add default gw 192.168.69.1
    or something like that...

EDIT: left out the crucial GW, of course...

ifconfig ups but such route tells "no such device"

on the PC connection looks like:

Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection 5:

    Connection-specific DNS Suffix . :
    IP Address. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.50.1
    Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
    Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 10.87.8.25

setting a gateway on N810 were done:

    route add default gw 192.168.50.1

but this doesn't work too - firewall on PC in training mode doesn't tell about any attempt connect to it

ping on N810 just waits, 100% packets lost

You need to set it in the same subnet, if that's not already happening? (i.e. N810 must be 192.168.50.x, 2 <= x <= 254 )

If that's not the problem, I'd tend to blame BlueSoleil. But I don't really know.
