Just noticed that the new FM Radio for OS 2008 has an add stations by Country, County (Area), Location feature. A hidden gem perhaps

Its the icon option bottom right when you have the full app open, the icon which looks a little like a key with the green arrow in bottom left corner.

Think it only appeared after I added a station manually, but of course I could be wrong?

FM Radio Version 1.5.7. running on the official beta of OS 2008 on the N800.

I wonder how we can add additional stations to the provided lists and where they come from, i.e. It seems our Internet Tablets are requesting /downloading this data from the Internet (or just from a local file on the tablet which is downloaded when application is Installed)

Hmmmm Interesting

I'm not sure where the list comes from (it's retrieved through the internet), but it was available in the OS2007 version of FM Radio, I used it when visiting relatives over Thanksgiving to get some local stations. I think the icon looked more like a satellite dish before, but I could be completely wrong.

You can still add stations manually, and change the names I think. It's a handy starting list, and nice for traveling.

It's definitely a nice feature... But they had the feature in 2007 also...

But it's very nice.. makes it very easy to set up the radio.

I missed finding the feature in the FM Radio with OS 2007. Just shows that we all miss features in apps. oh well, not such a new feature then hope this post helps others find a feature they would otherwise miss

http://sds.hpvisualradio.com/sdsweb/Search.do - obviously the list generator for visualradio.com, which is a Nokia operation.

But I'd be very interested where they get their lists from - especially as it lists a additional, long (about five years) outdated frequency for the station I'm working at...
