I installed irssi on to my 770 and I cant get it to run. In xterm I am running irssi (just like on the desktop) and I am getting an output of sh: irssi: not found. Am I missing something?

Your PATH environment variable is not set up... Maybe the best way is to add /var/lib/install/<something there where the binaries are> to your PATH settings. Editing .profile has its risks though. I ran irssi directly from the directory where the binary is.

another option is to add a symlink to the irssi binary in /bin
ln -s /path/to/irssi/bin/irssi /bin/irssi

Yet another option is to run irssi inside of a screen session on your desktop, and then ssh into your desktop from your tablet and reattach it.

That is a viable option. The reason I needed to install irssi on my tablet was that I am running ssh+screen+irssi on it at home and accessing it remotely. It beats keeping a whole desktop computer up just to run irssi .
