I've "ported" this to OS2008, and it runs on my N810. There seem to be minor problems with getting the typing focus into the dialog box, but it works.
I'm happy to make the executable available. However, I'm not really a developer, so I really want someone else to "take ownership" of the port, build a proper ".deb" installation package, and upload the package into one of the repositories so that it's publically accessible.
