Where do I change the mailsound in the n800 e-mail client. I found out some time back how to turn on the sound/led warning when I got mail but now I can't find out where. I would also like to change the default to another wav/mp3 sound

you can turn the notification sound on or off in email tools>settings>updating, but i've never seen an option so select a custom tone

hmm.. But the sound would have to be somewhere right? So if I replaced it with something else it might change.

So next challenge would be to know where that sound is. Anybody up for the challenge?

Replace the file '/usr/share/sounds/ui-new_email.wav' by what you want.

You can use the console and copy your file or make a symbolic link from / to a directory you can see in the browser.
You can type this in the console : "ln -s / /home/user/MyDocs/.documents/root" and then browse the root directory in Documents/root ine the file manager.

But you need to be root to replace the previous file...
