I have the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard and the file it downloads for my device is always "corrupted". I've downloaded it about 5 times for a total of about an hour and a half of downloading and it wont work. I also tried it manually but the files off maemo are in .php??? It's supposed to be in .bin . Can i change the .php to .bin? Is there something else i can do? I'm not a pro so please dumb down the answers. Thanks

Uninstall the update wizard and install the latest one.

Do not "save target as" or use a download manager (GetRight, DownThemAll, etc etc) when downloading from maemo.org. If you still get prompted to download a file with a PHP extension, I'd just verify that it's the right size, and then change the extension to .bin and flash it.

What device do you have?

The incorrect php file extension on the upgrade binaries when you download the ".bin" file directly from maemo.org is a known bug, and it has been reported. It's nothing to do with what tool you use to download it. You can safely rename the file .bin as it should have been.

Hrm. I can still download fine using Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Vista (correct filename, etc) but when I use DownThemAll/wget/etc I get a large "download.php" file.

Good to know it's official, at least
