Yes, why would'nt you want the latest operating system - the first thing I did was upgrade mine and I have not looked back...

Look at www.gronmayer.com/it for repositories and the packages they contain.

Because no one can answer it. 2008 is very much a preference thing.

I dislike it. The only good thing is more speed, I find the user interface with its ugly front page and huge menus to be unusable.

Other people love it.

So go to the 2008 forum, and start reading people's impressions of it, then make up your own mind.

There's a 144-post thread on page one of the N800 forum answering exactly that question. You have to try to help yourself. You can't just expect everybody to be at your beck and call.

Now that, sir, is some fine hyperbole.

Could you be a little more demanding? You might garner more goodwill if you had more attitude.

Well. As soeone who just got mine last week. Here's my take on the new OS.
1. You can get your apps (dunno about quake) for 2008, and 2008 will connect to windows shared folders. and I like the new ui a little better. And it feels a little more responsive to me than the 2007 version, but that may be my imagination.

Mainly, shared folder access was the cincher for me to upgrade, oh, and Gecko as the primary browser.
