duh. The pc-side software has a checkbox that must be seet for network connection. Once you do that, it works!! (as if by magic 
)

On the N800, I filled in Hostname & pressed "Start HotSync" button. Nokia responds "Launching sync thread". But nothing happens after that. After a minute, Nokia says "Failed (Cant connect)". My PC is running Windows XP & has the Palm hotsync software.
Do I need more software on my PC? Such as a ACCESS/Nokia version?
