VNC is unusably slow for me.. I wanted to use it to control my media center pc but the lag is too bad and "Vista Media Centre" doesnt even show up properly in it..

On the contrary remote desktop works perfectly for what i need it for and i can't fault it

I use Hamachi + UltraVNC for this purpose on my pcs. But I am having trouble installing hamachi on my n800 with OS2008. Others have had success installing it on OS2007.

I use VNC as a remote for my htpc. You can't use rdesktop as a remote because the screen of the serving PC goes away. You can see both screens with VNC.

how does one right click using vnc?

press the + key at the top of your N800 and it'll perform a right click

Are you using windows/vista media center?

No, I'm using Windows XP and I have a TV tuner card installed in my htpc which has software like media XP. I like to just use the one click icons at the bottom to start VLC and watch a movie or go to Netflix and use the "watch now" feature to watch one. I really don't use the media software to much. Whatever is your preference.
