A new product called "Remote Buddy" from http://www.iospirit.com/ will let you control your mac from your internet tablet. I tested it with OS2008 on my N800. It advertises for the iPhone/iPod touch but the Ajax code works perfectly on the OS2008 browser!

You can control iTunes, launch FrontRow, use it as a remote keyboard (sorta), and a remote mouse!

It is much sweetness!

How is this different from VNC?
