I dropped mine two feet onto hardwood floor. It bounced around but was okay. Phewww.
It had slipped out of its factory soft case.
I read in a forum here about using stick-on velcro to keep it from sliding out. Works great !
I do like the slippy-sock, but I've dropped it a couple times too. Inside jacket pocket, and I didn't have the socked N800 down in far enough. Bend over, and N800 flies. When it's the whole way down in, it still fishes out handily (edit: when I want it out), but catches on the pocket lip to prevent such slides.
