Greetings, all.

This is my first post. I just got my new n800 this morning from Amazon and so far have been impressed. I am, however, having an issue.

I followed the wizards for setting up a BT connection to my phone. I have a connection to the phone and it works for transferring files but I cannot get it to connect to the internet. I upgraded my account to support tethering so I wouldn't have to mess with PDAnet. I've searched here, qusers and hofo with no luck. Most of the posts refer to older versions of the Q firmware. I have the latest version. The n800 sees the BT DUN connection and attempts to connect. I see the bluetooth connection show up briefly on my Q. The n800 then says that it cannot connect. I changed the <MDN> to my actual phone number in the username settings.

Has anyone had luck BT tethering to their Q?

Thanks in advanced for any information you can provide.

I just finished rehacking my Razr so I could tether to my phone with Verizon. Verizon is really discouraging tethering, however, once you are able to establish a bluetooth connection with your phone, the secret lies in changing the login info from phone#@dun.vzw3g.com to be phone#@vzw3g.com. You might need to read over at howardforums.com for specific details on how to do this with your phone. If you have a data plan, this hack might not be needed, but check howardforums, or if you want the "official" answer call Verizon, but be prepared for a "no" or give us money type answer.

Thanks for the input. I already had the data plan since they're required for smartphones. I added the tethering plan on top of that (+$15/mo) just to make sure I'd be able to do it.

I was able to get a Datacall setup with #777, un: qnc and pw: qnc. It wasn't incredibly fast, but seemed better than the expected dial up speeds. I tried to use it again today and it didn't work :/

I guess it's time I called Verizon and see if they have any input.
