ive searched all over the internet and InternetTabletTalk for help on some issues ive been having with both my Nokia 770 and my N810

while on the application manager i always seem to get it stick on
"downloading 1kb"
and it doesnt shift, when i cancel it in the log it says it failed to fetch the repository
or "2 no such file or directory"

on all catalogue's
ive tried flashing, deleteing all catalogue's and putting them back in and even downloading the .install files from maemo.org
the only time i manage to get programs installed is if i have the DEB file.

i was thinking this might be an issue with my router. as it is happening on both nokia's.

what port does the application manager use? upnp?
any information abuto what my routers settings should be would help greatly. however im not so sure because i can access the internet via the tablet with no problems :-S

or it may have somthing to do with how im using the tablets.

any information would be greatly appreicated

the application manager is just a front-end to the APT pkg management system, and that downloads its pkg metadata via http. So it should be using port 80.

Have you added any "unusual" repositories that are perhaps down?

thank you for your help but after a few hours after i made this post i was playing around with settings and stumbled upon the answer.

I added my DNS settings manually in the connections rather than auto retrive the settings from the router.

This solved my problem immediatly. Must have been somthing to do with the VPN.

Thank you anyway.
