Is it possible to disable low battery alerts? When they start popping I can usually squeeze 30 minutes of mp3 playback and it's irritating to ear the low battery alert every 5 minutes....

It's not a good idea to continually run lithium batteries down completely. Every now and then it's good to do a cycle, but your asking for a dead battery quick.

It's far from "completely" run down even when the internet tablet turns off for exactly this reason.

Lithium batteries don't need a full cycle. Actually I have read some recent studies which clearly point that the best way to use a li-ion or li-pol is to fresh-it up as often as you like. Full cycles degrade li-ions faster than topping it up from 60-80% to 100%

I don't have the link anymore but the study was legit, not some tips&tricks website.

The point sondjata was making is that it's a good idea to exercise Li-Ion batteries about once a month by completely discharging then recharging them. It helps keep the cells fresh.
