Default The 4th flasher ;)...

We all know about the
Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard that runs Windows, only just flashes a .bin file or downloads it then flashes it, the flasher-3.0 for Linux which can set R-D mode, set which device the original initfs will boot off, just flash an initfs etc and 0xFFFF which is the only open source flasher for linux afaik which can set device into RD mode, unpack firmwares, flash rootfs etc. Also not technically full flashers but flashers nevertheless. Fanoush's on device kernel & initfs flasher.

Maybe some of you know this already but I could not find anything on the forum.

But there is also Phoenix for Windows. This one seems to do a lot more "tuning". Phone servicers will know about this tool, I didn't because I'm a extreme Sony Ericsson modder (you may know me of se-nse).

Unfortunately, I do not have a dongle so I have to use the limited ways of bypassing the dongle restriction.

This means I can only use a old version and not what is recommended by Nokia (2007.34).

Lets start, I installed Phoenix and the "RX-34 Phone Data Package v6.0 (for RX-34 SW 2.2007.51-3)" firmware files for Phoenix which corrosponds with RX-34_2008SE_2.2007.51-3_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin - which is the latest firmware release for N800.

Here's an except from the Phone Data Package readme:

Quote:
- RX-34 software release 2.2007.51-3
- RX_34.ini file, that includes
- options used in flashing
- <product_code>.ini files, that define
- names of flash files
- Label printing files (600dpi only)
- readme_rx-34.txt (this file)
- adcreadings.ini for EM Calibration
- audiocontrol.ini for audio tests
- bluetooth.ini for BT tests
- layout.ini for TouchPad tests
- rx_34displaytest.ini for display tests
- fmradiocontrol.ini for FM Radio tests
- camera_control.ini for Camera tests
- wlan.ini for WLAN tests and tunings
- wlan_RX-34.xml WLAN Autotuning
- product profile files

I removed the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard which removed the update drivers that came with it.

When starting my N800 in update mode, I got :

which we all know to be a different device to what it is with the wizard and when it finished installing, I got:

Now, I have to say, my version of Phoenix is old and it will not recognise my connected N800 but it still loads up the flash files and I want to show the features.

(If anyone does have access to latest full phoenix with dongle, would they be willing to try it out with N800?)

- Selecting the N800 (RX-34 is N800)

Flashing > USB Flasher:

BTW ( I didn't change directory, those files came with the flash package)

Testing Menu:

Tuning Menu:
Just lists:
  • WLAN Auto Tune
  • WLAN Tx Tuning
  • Wlan T/X Iq tuning

And "Energy Managment" but that is grayed out.

Wlan Configuration:

Touchpad test:

There is a lot more but I'm too tired to make anymore pictures. Hopefully, someone can get phoenix working. I'd be intrested to see what could be done with it

BTW: I will not share any files (unless you have a dongle...) . Anybody (including me) out side of Nokia Service center is not meant to have phoenix. But if it can do so much with N800, I thought this would make a good find.
