So does that affect how we look or our seniority?

Righty, I've tried all the posted tricks to format but I am stuck. In File manager I am told that the virtual memory is in use (or something like that). I tried to uncheck it again just after a reboot but no luck.

I tried the Xterm commands, and got the following error:
device or resource busy.

Something is holding onto my virtual memory. Is there a way to release it? Can I find out what is using it?

Does anyone know how to find out what it using my virtual memory? I must disable it to format and I must format to continue using my IT.
linux_autor suggested reflashing. Is this my only option left at this point?

FYI I have the mem/cpu meter in the status bar. Could this help me find the VM or even be the culprit? (there appears no way to switch it off)

Similar memory card problem here - every time I tried to back up to my PC, whether with drag and drop or xcopy, it would hang the PC when going to the map\navicore folder.
I was seemingly able to go to the n810 file manager and copy it to a "backup" 4GB SDHC card.

SUCESS !!!
For anyone who has had the virtual memory problem I managed to release it by rebooting and immediately going to memory, virtual memory and unchecking it. I tried this before unsucsessfully, perhaps because I waited too long or opened another app before trying to remove it. My IT hadn't even fully connected to my wireless router before I got to VM and unchecked it.

I was then able to go onto format and the Xterm size reports now yield correct values for the card.

NOW I can get on with my life!
(Thanks to all who helped)
