All packages have now been upgraded to this newest 0.4 rev 26 release (Just built bora package). See first post for links.

I'd say this release is well worth the upgrade... seems smoother and fullscreen button alone is worth it

Bora users : let me know if you run into any issues although i tested it on os2008 and seems to run fine

    @pipeline

    +1

I agree. The only thing I missed was the install option on debs. I run emelfm as root so that was a brilliant option for me.

Any chance of adding it back in for the next release you do?

(I don't need it for this one as I downloaded the previous version and extracted config-enUS and added the deb install option into the current 0.4.6 config ^-^)

Ahh! You noticed Yea that was the only difference i had between configs so when i reworked the main one i took shortcut thinking no one was using.

I'll add it back whenever i update next... and i'll probably do what you did (dpkg extract) to figure what that command was

I notified author of this port and hopefully they can help me figure out how to make the advanced configuration screens work/fit better on maemo too so in future this could be more easily added from within program (assuming you knew what to add).

I'll add that to todo list for next version... feel free to pass along any other suggestions for associations/configs.

Small question, how do you operate emelfm2 as root? I want to edit a couple files that it says I have no permission to edit. I also want to get to directories that begin with a period (shadowed is the correct term?). I normally use Midnight Commander in terminal but I like not opening terminal to just edit a text file.

Opening terminal, gaining root, then drilling to where emelfm2 lives to launch it (or typing a long path) kinda defeats the purpose (making MC easier to use instead) of a hildonized app.

    thanks.

By default its xterm, sudo gainroot (or root), and then emelfm2

If you wanted to always launch as root you could do this :

Does emelFM2 have a functioning Search of Find function? There's the Find dialog -- which I get to from the Plugins menu -- but it doesn't seem to do anything. I put in my term, I click Find, and as far as I can tell nothing happens in the top window or in the file manager panes.

(If emelFM2 does not have such a function, is there some other way to find a file when you don't know what directory it is in?) (The default File Manager has a Search function, but it doesn't work for "hidden" folders.)

Right, i think the search function probably does not fit into 800x480 to be usable.

Maybe i can write user commands to do that although it would output to console/output area.

Your just looking to find a file by name or by contents (like rgrep)?
