I have a n800/os2008 with my WLAN idle time set to 10 minutes to save the battery. Whenever I click on a link while the connection is down, I see the WLAN icon flashing and in Microb I get a "unable to connect to server" error before the connection is established. If I click 'retry' I can open the link.

Isn't Microb supposed to wait for the connection to be ready before spitting out error messages, and only complain if the connection can't be made? Or is it just a hard timeout defined somewhere?.

No, as far as I can tell it just tries blindly and gives up when it can't connect. It doesn't seem to even try to find out if there is a connection, and maybe can't tell.

Thanks. Too bad it doesn't work that way. For Ubuntu Mobile one of the specs say apps should just make the connection when necessary. I wonder if that also means that they don't just timeout.
