It seemed that i had to remove all of my applets and then the desktop rebooted on its own so i have narowed it down to om weather. For some reason when its running it is constantly trying to do something and it was using quite a bit of the cpu.
Thanks none the less for the help and now im off to find out whats going on with my weather app.

I had installed the vista and OSX themes a long time ago and thay changed my icons and i completely forgot about it.
It seems like i am alway having the desktop running something and im not sure what it is? I do know that the status bar applet and status graph both say that its the desktop that is running so hard and when i go ahead and kill the desktop and it gets back up its fine for a bit. I just dont understand what could be causing this issue.
I have the rotation installed, the only applets that i have on the desktop are weather and the home wifi strength? I have my background picture stored on the hard-drive instead of mmc1 or 2.
I did get that metadata crawler about a month or so ago but i managed to get rid of that. This issue has always been around and i am finally getting a little sick of restarting the desktop about 3 times a day depending on use.
If anyone has had this or has herd about this then please help
Much appreciation
