"Face it...Diablo was released prematurely...it seems to be chock-full-of-bugs."

Haven't I seen the above message many, many times?

Maybe we should make a form that someone could check off, thus making posting easier. The form would be

"Face it..._____ was released prematurely...it seems to be chock-full-of-bugs."

In particular, OS2008 got that comment a lot, and I see how that has gone down the tubes...

But I learned working for a major software company that the more popular your software, the more bugs are inevitably discovered when it goes into wide release, no matter how diligent your beta testing.

Maybe this is an argument for not using version 1.0 of anything, but I just take problems philosophically and remember that I can always reflash if worst comes to worst (even if reflashing is supposedly obsolete now).

Diablo doesn't seem to be recognizing the backups I have stored on my card. Could this be because I moved them to my computer once, reformatted the card, and then moved them back?

Any way to run a backup from xterm?

Actually, the line that got parroted only too often was "not ready for prime time". Oy. Here I was using OS2008 happily (during prime time) for six months, not realizing it wasn't ready.

Especially now with updating... just dive in and keep updating. Kinda like Debian, sometimes the bugs just vanish over time.

I suspect backups are recognized by the folder name. Make sure your folder is called "backups" (all lower case + plural). Each backup should be in a subfolder under that.

    Rhapsody Users-

Good news. A Diablo compatible version is now available for install. No need to jump through any of the suggested hoops in the thread; the program will install correctly from the app manager.

It seems this is happening for a number of applications. For example, I couldn't install the Wizard Mounter application on the day Diablo was released due to dependency issues but I was able to yesterday.

Thanks to everyone who already worked hard on this release and to everyone who is continuing to work to make the NITs great.
